Artistic concept for tech congress design that is an art piece to provoke questions and conversation, containing scientific topics around media theory, ethics and future outlooks. Inspired by mind map visualization. Key visual got redrawn into tiny brush drawings and then magnified through several copying machines, scanners and digital enhancements (rasterizing, vectorizing, pixel-duplication,…) to create contrast by several kinds of “digital decay”. Further contrast by “painting” with folds and large-scale paper knits, usually seen as mistake, they were used intentionally to create dramatic lines and compositions representing the “human factor” in an environment where the questions need to be raised of the role of humans living within an ever evolving technological eco system. Usually we are surrounded by technology during that congress technology was surrounded by the “human factor” through that artwork. All shiny technology presented on 36 exhibition spaces were in contrast to the archaic expressive and wild paper installations. The Mercedes A-Class was on display at Tech Open Air Berlin 2019 and is currently on display at Daimler’s global HQ in Stuttgart, waiting on a possible slot at Mercedes Benz Museum in the future. Congress featured speakers from many different companies and institutions including Microsoft, Startup Autobahn and several Blockchain and AI companies.

Because all paper folds were part of the artistic concept, as well as the use of prints and painting in combination, Daimler’s paintshop lab was involved to innovate a way to seal the artwork in after it was done including the paper-sections. This hasn’t been done by the company before and now technique could be researched.
